Video interview Series chapter 1: Steve Forstall
Mar 4th, 2010 | By Solo Surfer | Category: FeaturedI have known Steve Forstall since the Late seventies. Either from my times working in the local surf shop in High school, to our partnership in our own surf shop/Surfboard factory, until our current business relationship and friendship. All during this time, Steve has been a creative force and unique individual. In fact, if there is one word that describes Steve better than any other it would be…individual. An only child and son of John Forstall a bit of a creative genius in his own right..Steve has always attempted to carve his own path. Some have done it in politics, while others have done it in what we call main street businesses, but Steve decided early on the make his mark carving foam and waves. Thousands of surfers over the last 34 years are glad he did. This surfer being one. This will be the first of a series of interviews with Steve and other Pensacola beach locals that have made contribution in both Pensacola and other parts of the surfing world. Special thanks to Freddy Esposito for the use of his back yard on Pensacola Beach. Keep an eye out for a video on his contributions as well. Also thanks to BZR Turner who has been an inspiration to all of us Pensacola Beach local surfers for many years.

What a great interview and informative. I remember Steve as a young wipper snapper pranksta’ on Pensacola Beach in the the 70’s. My first new surfboard was an Islander. Now he is a master in his league.Longboardlisa.
